Nestled in the hills outside of Santa Fe New Mexico, the Sereno residence is bathed in the colored light from the magnificent sunsets of the high desert southwest. A contemporary take on the classic Santa Fe adobe style, this house is a case study in clean lines. Playing with the concept of an intimacy gradient from A Pattern Language, the design separates the guest wing from the master suite and office by a gallery space with high clerestory windows. All the bedrooms are situated to the east to capture the early morning light while the main living spaces are oriented to allow for ample south light as well as frame the views to the west.
