A Sunlight home is a wonderfully comfortable, highly energy efficient, green custom home. Our homes are designed in direct response to our clients' personal design needs, aesthetic tastes and building budgets. The specific climate, solar orientation and views at the building site also play an important role in the design. Sunlight homes are found throughout the continental United States.
We have been in business since 1975 and have always specialized in sustainable, solar residential architecture. Over the last 35+ years we have designed homes for most climates across the country. Super insulation and natural day lighting are features of every Sunlight home and past clients everywhere find increased comfort and greatly reduced energy use in a home that is designed for their own climate.
We use technology to our advantage in our design process and in our materials selections, while maintaining a deep respect for the "softer" side... subtle design elements that make a home feel good. We have developed a strong understanding of how to design healthy homes that feel inviting and comfortable.
We use sophisticated 3-D architectural software and our clients enjoy seeing 3-D models of their plans as their designs progress.
Our homes are built with a high tech, SIP (structural insulated panel) building system which is super insulated, strong and tight. Yet our homes can have curved corners, archways, sunny window seats, cheerful kitchens, inviting great rooms and cozy porches.

Sunlight homes can be designed in nearly any architectural style, from ranch to Southwestern, contemporary to farmhouse, or to blend in with homes in the area. The SIP building system actually opens up design options instead of limiting them and we use the superior strength and insulation values to our best advantage in design.
Our favorite passive solar design principals have evolved over the years. This comes from our ongoing research into sustainable home design, materials and methods, and from listening to past clients as they live in their Sunlight homes and give us their feedback.
