 ome along on our photo tour of a Sunlight home built on the outskirts of Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002.
Set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in an area that enjoys the full range of the four seasons and a lot of sunshine, Steve + Karen H. wanted their home to blend into their rugged landscape.

From the front, the size is deceiving because only the 2500 square foot upper level is visible. The 1600 square foot lower level, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a large, open family room is set into the hill below and expands out the the east-facing back yard.

Stone with hand-hewn log veneer were chosen as the exterior finish for this western Sunlight home. A mortar-like chinking material fills the spaces between the logs. The effect is striking!
